City of Fashion Paris, France

Paris is the most visited city of the world. It has over 30 million tourists every year and over 70 million people visit France either. Because France and particularly Paris have beautiful places to visit and the atmosphere is so nice that causes it to stay for weeks.

Paris is always amazing but particularly I recommend you to have your trip in spring  (april-may) or autumn (september-october). Winter is too cold and summer is too hot. I have been in June ,and the trip was surprise for me .I came to know when my husband took me to the FRANCE EMBASSY for our VISA.It was suddenly like a daydreamer.I couldn't stop myself to think about this Romantic city..It feels good when you want something, and someone do it for you,but it feels heavenly good, when you have not imagined about it,and someone special do it for you. :-D

My dream journey has started. The birds were singing, sky was blue, and Paris is just opening it's arms
to have me with lots and lots of surprises. It is one of those cities where it’s easy to be lucky in love but whether you fall for tucked-away art cafés or swoon over watching the Eiffel Tower light up at dusk is up to you. Here I am listing few places, there were many to explore.

Eiffel Tower

The Eiffel Tower was originally built as an entrance arch  for the World Exhibition in 1889, held in celebration to mark the 100th anniversary of the French Revolution. It was built by Gustave Eiffel, who was also known for the construction of the Statue of Liberty's iron framework.

It is Located on the Champ de Mars in Paris,Inaugurated on March 31, 1889, the Eiffel Tower would be the tallest structure in the world until the completion of the Chrysler Building in 1930
The Eiffel Tower is 320 meters in height and it is made up of iron which is repainted every seven years. The tower has three levels for visitors, with restaurants on the first and second. The third level observatory's upper platform is 276 m above the ground.Nearly 500 employees are responsible for its daily operations, working in its restaurants, manning its elevators, ensuring its security and directing the eager crowds.

The Eiffel Tower looks ordinary during the day but it is a dazzling beauty when it is lit up with sparkling bulbs at night. It happens after every one hour till midnight. It is not uncommon to see lovey-dovey couples locked in lengthy kisses.

Every girl dreams of her own fairy tales and so do I.We were recently married, and my husband didn't took a single minute to bend on his knees with a diamond ring.A place where my husband  proposed to me again at the top of Eiffel Tower. It was old-fashioned but it was definitely romantic.

Louvre Museum
The Louvre Museum is one of the largest and most important museums in the world. It is housed in the expansive Louvre Palace, situated in the 1st arrondissement, at the heart of Paris. Here we will get trio of greats — the enigmatic "Mona Lisa," the curvaceous Venus de Milo and the headless Winged Victory of Samothrace.

The museum has a collection of over one million works of art, of which about 35,000 are on display, spread out over three wings :Sully, Richelieu and Denon. The museum has a diverse collection ranging from the Antiquity up to the mid-nineteenth century.

The most recent addition to the Louvre was the construction of the Louvre Pyramid, which functions as the museum's main entrance. The pyramid was built in 1989 and its benefit is it allows the sunlight to enter the underground floor.

Arc de Triomphe

The Arc de Triomphe was commissioned by Napoleon in 1806, however, he died before he got to see it completed. It was nearly completed in 1836.

The triumphal arch is in honor of those who fought for France, in particular, those who fought during the Napoleonic Wars.Their names were engraved on the inside and at the top of the arch. There are inscriptions in the ground underneath the vault of the arch which include the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier from World War I where  the Memorial Flame burns and have made the Arc de Triomphe Paris a revered patriotic site.

The arch is located at the end of the Champs-Elysées, in the middle of the Place Charles de Gaulle, a large circular square from which no less than 12 streets emanate. The streets are named after French military leaders.

Notre Dame Cathedral (Notre Dame de Paris)

This famous cathedral is located on an island in the River Seine that has been settled for over 2000 years, which eventually was built into the city of Paris. The church has a long history and several periods of construction dating back to 1163. It is one of the most singular and beautiful cathedrals of Europe, dramatic towers, spire, stained glass and statuary are guaranteed to take your breath away.It is of French Gothic architecture that was greatly damaged during the French Revolution in the late 18th century. It was restored to how it is today in the early 19th century and now is an incredibly beautiful place to visit, and one of the most famous cathedrals in the world

As Notre Dame is a church, entry is free, you only have to pay if you want to climb the towers.

FEW IMPORTANT THINGS  TO REMEMBER :-
  • Eat at the BAR,not Outside
In summers ,locals make a beeline for restaurant table set up outside--on pavements--and has long meals under sun.Eateries make the most of these arrangements and charge more if you eat at outside tables. You can eat the same meal sitting inside,at the bar,for half the price.
  • Check for free Wifi with Meals.
Most public places in Europe do not have free Wifi, except for few,all hotels charge between 5-10 € for few hours of wifi connection. However several eateries offer free wifi ,when we order a meal,so better opt this option.
  • Pay less money for Loo
On a trip to europe, you are likely to spend one euro per person, each time you use public toilets, when you are sight-seeing.Use restaurant loos for free when you eat there or cafes when you buy a coffee.
  • Don't pay as much for water
Half litre of bottle water costs one euro,so when you set out for hotel, fill up your bottles.Because in all hotels in europe, the tap water is drinking water, but if you don't want to fill bottles from bathroom taps(yes we are indians), get it from kitchen
  • Look for free entry
Most important musems and places of historical interest have a steep entrance fee in europe. However they have particular day, like first sunday of the month between october-march, entry is free.So schedule your visit keeping that day in mind.
  • Avoid money exchanges
You cannot carry all the cash that you need through out the trip.when you need money, use an ATM to withdraw it from your account, because bank gives the best rate of exchange and is a safer mode of transaction.
  • Buy day-long travel passes
Buying a metro or a train ticket for the whole day, that allows unlimited rides,is the best bet in an unknown city. But don't forget to collect all the maps of the route of your destination, otherwise you will be confused which metro to take.
  • Tea addicts,snacks stock up
If you can't do without your daily dose of chai, then ,carry tea bags, sugar and milk sachets from india and also have some snacks for energy boosting while sight-seeing.It keeps you active throughout journey.
